Rob Smith
Rob Smith is a lawyer and entrepreneur. As managing partner of Chartwell Capital Advisors, he has provided investment-banking and financial services to a national and international clientele, and he has invested in and owned operating businesses across wholesale distribution, restaurants, manufacturing, construction, technology, and retail. He recently founded Solum RWA, a tokenization firm, and serves on the management team of Solum Global, which applies blockchain technology to AI medical claims.
As a lawyer, Smith has won cases at the Virginia Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and he is an outspoken proponent of property rights. His firm, Robert C. Smith, PLC, co-counsels legal work with lawyers and firms across the country.
A native of Virginia’s Northern Neck, Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia, attended graduate school at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and earned his law degree from the University of Richmond, where he later taught continuing-education courses in history and economics. He is the father of three and lives in Richmond, Virginia.
