John Tamny

John Tamny has spent two decades arguing that economic growth is what free people produce when they are left alone, and that most of what we are told to fear about the economy is a misreading of what prosperity actually looks like.

He is the editor of RealClearMarkets and a longtime Forbes contributor. He has written eight books, among them Popular Economics, which George Will devoted a column to, and The Deficit Delusion, his 2025 argument that nearly everyone across the political spectrum has the national debt backwards. A ninth, on California, is underway.

He founded The Parkview Institute in 2023 to make the case full time, and he writes here several times a week.

The goal of Parkview is to relentlessly push the terms of the economics debate to much sounder footing.
